Companies entered into the commercial register or a comparable register of companies, which are headquartered in an EU member country, Norway or Switzerland, can become a member of the VDS, as long as they produce and distribute abrasive products and employ a minimum of 10 people. In case of a lower number of staff, the admission into the VDS requires a reasoned case-by-case decision of the VDS Board. The further processing of semi-finished abrasive products purchased elsewhere is not considered as production in the above sense.
Extraordinary members are companies entered into the commercial register or a comparable register of companies, headquartered in a EU member country, Norway or Switzerland, if they make an important contribution to the objectives of the VDS. They can attend the General Assemblies of the VDS, but are not entitled to vote.
Interested companies are kindly requested to advise their interest in joining VDS by sending an informal letter to the Secretary General. The VDS Board will decide on the acceptance of the application. Detailed application conditions can be obtained from the VDS office.
