Organigram of the VDS
|
 |
The German Abrasives Association (VDS) was founded on January 4, 1917
and its main purpose is to attend to all matters of the abrasives and abrasive tools
industry. The association will strictly avoid the involvement in party political and
ideological affairs. The detailed objectives of the VDS are:
To represent and promote the economic and legal interests of its member
companies.
To consult and support all member companies on all professional and
commercial matters relating to the manufacture and distribution of abrasive products.
To develop various standards (i.e. safety, product types, testing,
inspection and marking) for abrasive tools, to deal with a wide range of technical matters
and to propose solutions to the industry. The association provides legal and commercial
support on environmental and waste disposal matters. Advice for DIN/EN/ISO certification
and ecological auditing is also part of the VDS service function.
To produce internal production and sales statistics.
To establish contacts between members and national and local Government
Administrations and to consult and inform these bodies in the interest of all member
companies (Lobbying).
To practise extensive communication with European and other
associations, federations and organisations all over the world.
